How do I add a second redundant battery to my Mastercraft boat?

May 08, 2006 by jlmcallis Categorized Under: Boats & Boating

If I accidentally throws the battery down with hot water by boat or stereo while the engine is not a game, I would like to have a second battery to start the engine.
I found a thread on this question often over the forum Span Talk Mastercraft. The idea is to connect the two batteries together in parallel, but add a 'relay dual influence "on the positive side + and connect the relay switch to the ignition circuit. That way, when the key is in the OFF or ACC determine the relay is not engergized and positive circuit is OPEN.When the engine is running, the relay is energized and two batteries may obtain stay of the alternator.

It works well. I can loop all the stereo amplifiers for the second battery, and use that power to the stereo while the engine is not running, while saving the first battery to start the engine.

Here the identification with the wire on TeamTalk:

You be sure that I put a second battery and a dual battery switch on my boat.
However I use a box to start jumping as it works and superlative you can get one from Walmart for 35.00.
The choice will last approximately 200.00 and Labor.

how cheapest and easiest way is to get one of those jump packs starting battery, and bring it with you when you go out on the boat. Otherwise, you need a battery isolator.

Boat Heater for Boat Moored so it must be CO safe?

Dec 29, 2006 by ebiz1@sbcglobal.net Categorized Under: Boats & Boating

As you skilled in, when you are moored, you can not use much electricity. So I need a gas, Keroscene or something heater, the problem is it can not vent to a small confined bothy.
If I am staying on the boat for 3 days, what can I use??? Also any other power ideas???

depending on how much ya wanna dish out, and if this is just a 1 off or something you will need in the future again, one solution could be to get a suburban, or atwood furnace, found in RVs. a look on ebay or maybe down your county rv dealership might turn up something cheap.
they are LP and 12volt, LP fueled, and need 12volt for the fans etc. however, they are not vented heart, the burners are sealed from the inside and air is blown over them. obviously to work in an RV.
just a suggestion, not cheapest way and not much use for good a 1 off

This is a very hard problem and Question
You said no kerosene, A small generator. if you don't have one maybe rent one for $?$cant be too overpriced. The boat is big enough for you to stay on but no heater. most large boats have heaters or heat exchangers that run off the motor and supply heat to cabins, houses, and folks holes perhaps you can run a extension cord to the boat if your docked. ?????????????
Hope this might give you some ideas.

Is the UK’s solar subsidy scheme illegal?

Three months promised to replace Solartwin customers require subsidies - but no progress has occurred on the race to buy solar thermal. Having distributed yet three months to more than 400 pounds instead of distributing discount, but now it is a shock to the whistle - Consideration to be threatened by the Union Merchandising solar except even more if we do?

Here are some comments and copies of letters asking: is the United Kingdom solar heating not wash method richly grant ambush? Two areas that show it might be: failure and safe.

But first, some relevant structures, players and acronyms. Wish for this bit if you wish.

First report of the United Kingdom solar subsidy scheme is called low carbon buildings Outline (LCBP). The funds mark green technologies including solar hot water gas. The simoleons is the responsibility of Verve and Atmosphere Metamorphose (DECC). Because the rules of European aid form, it runs in two more "channels". String 1 occupants LCBP funds to buy thin solar heating systems to classify a set of £ 400 in England and Wales and N. Ireland Recognized as solar sure to turn into £ 3-5K it is a 10% grant aid. The rating is above 30% up to £ 1200 in Scotland. It is unequivocally charity. Shoot 2 LCBP funding for community projects such as schools and homes venereal an even more sympathetic to the order of 50%.

So how to keep a legacy. I intend to homowners (LCBP effluvia 1) master.
