Algonquin Solo Canoe Trip - Part 1 of 2

While hyperboreal my tail off in January I was pining for a canoe trip. I dug up some videos of a route I did on, and around, Stand Lake in Algonquin ...

I need a Canoe route in Algonquin with minimal portaging, 2 day loop?

Rich, with my girlfriend, so little port is the key.

Depends on how you're thirsty to paddle.

A reasonable way (that I have on several occasions) is as follows:

Enter the Park Entrance 3 (Magnetawan), which is about 285 km from Toronto ... it is indeed just north of Huntsville.

1. - Cross Lake to the east of Magnetawan (Hambone) Portage.
2. - Portage 135 m.
3. - Hybrid Hambone Lake (east to west) for porting Butt Lake.
4. - Portage 295 m.
5. - Socialize drop Butt Lake to west end .. Do you choose a good campsite and set up camp.(This way you will not have to lug all the ports until you're on your way back again on the 2nd day).
6. - Take the west end and find the portage Little Trout.
7. - Portage 435 m.
8. - Explore Little Trout Lake (and if you still take the 175 m portage Southern Queer Lake).
9. - Return to your campsite on Butt Lake.

10. - Half way along the north side of Patsy Lake is the David Lake portage.
11. - Portage 620 m.
12. - David Cross Lake (south to north) the port of Lake Mubwayaka.
13. - Portage 80 m.
14.- Look in Mubwayaka Lake.
15. - Return to port back to David and retrace your steps to Butt Lake.

16. - Get to your campsite ... to anxiety, and head back (from west to east) on Butt Lake to the portage to Hambone Lake. Depending on wind, it may be you will take about an hour longer to return to the put-in on it Magnetawan oncoming your campsite.
17. - Portage 295 m.
18. - Cross Lake Hambone (from west to east) to the port of Magnetawan.
19. - Portage 135 m.
20. - Splenetic Magnetawan Lake (west to east) to the Put-in and your vehicle.

Remember to leave enough time for yourself to be out of the lake before the night (every day) ... makes it much safer to travel.

We are middle paddlers. I could phone the park itself, but maybe someone knows some good routes? Or maybe interesting things to see.
Thanks!

Easiest route is the degrade French/ Pickerel route. Put in at French River supply post, say hi to Claude. paddle down to Ox bay, circle the bay, down the might outlet to lovers lane, then back up the Pickerel, take out at Smith Marine at the bridge. Remember to purchase a camping permit, on tap at Smiths. The local law on the river is Ed Chevrette, MNR conservation officer, and he is sticky about permits and clean sites. Keep the beverages out of fright. Pack out your trash, and have fun. Try to paddle close to shore to avoid boat traffic. Check out Muskrat Bay on the way up the Pickerel, some intriguing scenery and rock formations(swirl-holes).
