kayak fishing?

Any Yak fishermen out there? My kayak is a 9 footer and has a fishfinder, rod holders, the mooring system, and GPS. I fish mostly for panfish, but during the 3 days of 60 degree weather we had here in Michigan, I caught a total of 22 bass. What do you fish and how your kayak is rigged?

I have a tarpon 120. It is rigged with a rudder, raised the door rod between my knees, a rod holder behind me, I take my GPS with me out in the flats of South Padre Holm, Texas. Recently I had 2 lines of about 5 to 6 feet in swimming right under my yak.

What is a good fishing kayak for a decent price?

Im deficient to start kayak fishing and am looking at buying my first kayak. I dont want the cheapest out there because I know all too well you get what you pay for but at the same time im not wanting to dish out a ton of rolling in it. If someone could just let me know a of a nice fishing kayak at a decent price Id really appreciate it.

A lot of it will depend upon the archetype of water and the type of fishing you are thinking of doing - also your body size/type.

I think the Ocean Kayak Scupper Pro remains one of the most routine choices.

Your best bet is to try as many of them as you can, and see what feels easy with you. Most outfitters, including REI, frequently have demo days where you can test-paddle craft. It is worth doing that before you put your cabbage down.
