Would I fit in an 8'10", 59 gallon Necky Jive kayak? I'm 6'2", 185 lbs.?

I would say in all respects, but no guarantees. I am of similar size and I tried sitting in a regular 8'4 "Jive, and it * almost * seems. There was plenty enough and pretty feet (which is often a problem) . But, how my knees reached the boat and it is very uncomfortable. The little extra room in the 8'10 "could probably make a huge difference.

Recommend a sea kayak? I've been told Q-Kayak Pengiun or Necky Looksha V but really don't know. Help!

I'm a goodly guy - 6'2" but slim. I want a kayak that I can use for fitness as well as long-ish trips. The Penguin is a safe bet but I've been told it's a miniature 'average'. I have a limited budget - no more than $3K. Everytime I ask someone (clubs etc) I get a different answer...

Grim to say that there's really no substitute for actually demoing the boats to see how you fit in them and how they perform for you. I'm close in size to you, and from experience, I've found that most kayaks that are marketed toward "big guys" have way too much bulk for tall, skinny people. So don't be afarid to try out kayaks that are made for "the average sized paddler."

Ill-starred to say that there's really no substitute for actually demoing the boats to see how you fit in them and how they perform for you. I'm close in size to you, and from experience, I've found that most kayaks that are marketed toward "big guys" have way too much measure for tall, skinny people. “The facts in fact is that longer boats come forward minor to no interest at touring speeds, which for the incalculable preponderance of sea touring kayakers, seldom outdo 4 knots.  In as a matter of actual fact creep information among many kayak models illustrates that shorter boats often have less coax at these speeds.  Add to this the bring about of on the cards and waves and a cheap paddler can find themselves struggling with a kayak that is well-deserved too much for them to guide.  Where’s the fun in that?” – notes from Necky Eliza schemer.  Study More Here .   Thoughts?

I bear in mind the organization of a meeting with a wholesaler or you put a bunch of boats in the irrigation for the rest of buyers to absorb. In boats, the "Best North American market moldable" section Eliza was the only one skin was surprisingly good rowing. Not a bad shot at all. The others were rather dull / nonchalant. Ultimately customers bought Avocets 3 persuadable however. Stronger and preferably of the construction and behavior even more beautiful on the ring false.

It made me raise the beam in the Necky Finger: "The buoy will continuously recruit, and skills in operation paddlers will maneuverability considers boundary.
