Will a Yamaha 1990 waverunner 500 pull a skier on 2 skis?

I tick regulations of your state first. In many states they need two people to be on a PWC to drive and to watch the skier. I saw many tubes behind jetski, but not many skiers. I would like to for many reasons, the most obvious being a skier is much more pull than a pipe and a jet ski could not provide the necessary wake of a skier needs a slick ride.

A knowledgeable skier should be ok.
Depending on what state you're riding in you might also need an observer, and this might be too much for a 500.

I have a 1990 Yamaha Waverunner 500...I bought it used...and it is in good condition for its year...?

The only quirk is, when I start it, it wants to immediately go about 4 or 5 mph...I am guessing that the idle needs adjusting...Does that sound like it to you?...If so, then where expressly is the idle screw located?...If it could be something else, any feedback on that would be appreciated...

I would say that you are bang on in your assumption that it is the idle speed. To find the idle screw work the throttle and watch the carb. you should see a mismanage that touches the throttle lever back it out about 1/4 turn at a time.
